My Favorite Booksale Finds

Booksale is one of the local bookstores in the Philippines selling bargained books. It’s always fun dropping by in this store and one of my stress relievers. When I saw a tweet from Bookbed, I’m inspired to write a post about my favorite Booksale Finds. Thank you Bookbed for the inspiration! ❤ 😀

Without further ado, here are my top books I acquired from Booksale according to age group:

Young Adult Books

  • The Art of Lainey by Paula Stokes – I recently acquired this book for Php 145 at SM Southmall Branch. It’s in great condition with the back cover slightly bent.
  • Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake – I found this gem at SM Southmall branch for Php 115 with bent back cover.
  • Stolen by Lucy Christopher – Another great steal from the same branch for Php 115. It’s in good condition with bent spine.
  • Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian – This was a great surprise. I bought this as hardcover for Php 130 and it’s in pristine condition. BEST STEAL. Thank you SM Southmall Branch! ❤
  • Just Listen by Sarah Dessen –  I’m slightly sad because it’s a battered copy which cost Php 145 at SM MOA Branch. But it’s Sarah Dessen and I didn’t let the opportunity slipped from my hands.
  • Heist Society by Ally Carter – I’ve been wanting to read this for ages and luckily found this at SM MOA Branch for Php 115 in good condition.
  • Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter – I bought it for only Php 50 at SM Southmall in great condition. Please let me know if you find Perfect Scoundrels!
  • Uglies by Scott Westerfeld – Great steal at SM MOA Branch for Php 180 despite the yellowish pages.
  • Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles – This hidden gem was only Php 145 in great condition when I spotted it on SM MOA Branch.

New Adult & Adult Books

  • Slammed by Colleen Hoover – Surprise surprise! That mini heart attack when I spotted this at Cash & Carry Branch. Snatched this gem for Php 115. The book condition: AMAZING.
  • Gabriel’s Inferno & Gabriel’s Rapture Sylvain Reynard – Trying not to fangirl inside the store when I found these two books but *screaming*. I got my favorites for Php 115 each at SM Southmall Branch. I need to reread this series before the 4th book releases. I shall hunt for Gabriel’s Redemption.
  • Breathe by Abbi Glines – For only Php 35 at SM Southmall Branch. I’ve this in YA edition and what a great way to reread the book in an updated version. It’s a lovely steal.
  • On Dublin Street by Samantha Young – More squealing! Another favorite of mine for Php 115 at SM Southmall Branch.
  • The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski –  More favorites!! I purchased this sequel for Php 115 at SM Southmall in good condition with its bent spine.
  • This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas – Not really my favorite book but title wise, it’s a great steal for Php 115 at SM Southmall.
  • Rush by Maya Banks – I purchased this erotica novel for Php 115 at SM Southmall though it’s a bit damaged.
  • Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire – I found this at Cash & Carry Branch for Php 230 and it’s looks brand new. I saved around Php 400+.
  • Me Before You by Jojo Moyes –  Before the movie was released, I reread this book when I found a copy at Cash & Carry Branch for Php 230. It’s an awesome deal!
  • Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst – Awesome deal from SM MOA Branch for Php 115.
  • Return of the Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon – I rarely see a Jessica Lemmon book on Booksale. Glad I spotted it on SM Southmall Branch for Php 110 in good condition.

Adult Nonfiction:

  • PassPorter’s Walt Disney World 2014 – It was my mom who found this book at SM Southmall for Php 175. The best thing about it was it’s unused.

The regular price for YA books here are around Php 350 – 500+ while for New Adult / Adult books it’s around Php 500- 800+ (even twice expensive if it’s self-published due to the shipping fee and tax). This is why I love Booksale. It saved me a lot of money and these hidden treasures were worth hunting.

Do you enjoy book shopping at bargained bookstores? What are your favorite books you acquired from secondhand bookstores?

  1. One of the bookstores that introduced me to romance was a used bookstore! So yes, I love shopping at used bookstores! My favorite places to shop are the Friends of the Library sale. Most of them have books that look brand new and hardbacks are only $1.

I used to live in the Philippines and we didn’t have NBS until the year 2000, I think. So used bookstore shopping was the way to go!

  2. Wow! You actually found a CoHo book! That’s amazing! I once found Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout but I didn’t have money so I had to pass. And now I cannot find it. I guess someone bought it already. 😭

      1. I hope so too! But I did found a signed copy of Jennifer E. Smith’s book. And it was a steal because it was only 115.
