#MorganMatsoninPH : Morgan Matson Book Signing Event

September 17,2016 | Saturday | National Bookstore – Glorietta 1 : I always look forward for September because of Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) and book signing events. When I heard Morgan Matson is coming to Manila, I know I couldn’t miss it and this is my most anticipated book signing event this year. Morgan Matson is the New York Times Best Selling Author of Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour, Second Chance Summer, Since You’ve Been Gone and her latest novel, The Unexpected Everything. She has also written novels under the name of Katie Finn.

I arrived at the venue around 8 AM and surprisingly, it’s less crowded than I have expected. It’s been a while since I’ve experienced a calmer and more organized book signing event. While on queue, I met up with the fellow ladies of #NALitLoversPH -It’s our book club in which we read and discuss New Adult novels – Rechellyn / Len of Infinite TBR List, Allie of A Literary Wanderer and Blessie of Mischievous Reads. I’m so glad to finally meet these ladies and we had a really fun chat about many things: Mostly books, non-stop dramas & shenanigans etc.. I really enjoyed our discussions. 🙂 These ladies are awesome and really fun to talk with! Looking forward to meet our fellow #NALitLoversPH sisters Pearl, Ate Claire, Jam, Kat and Nicay (I met her on Victoria Aveyard’s signing.) soon! ❤

I met up with the Book Girlfriends PH : Ate April, Ate Elaine, CeeBee and Ate Lindsay. It’s been a while since I’ve seen these lovely ladies and I’m usually with them when there’s a book signing event. I miss the other ladies and wish we are complete! It’s always fun to be with them 🙂 ❤

Also, I met PH YA Bloggers:  Hazel of Stay Bookish whom I have known on Goodreads for years, JM of Book Freak Revelations who is the host of The Sun Is Also A Star PH Blog Tour and one of the admins of Nicola Yoon PH fans club (Btw, The Sun Is Also A Star is an amazing YA Contemporary book. It’s a must read!) and  Inah of The Bibliophile Confessions, who is also the admin of Nicola Yoon PH (Inah, we shall take a photo together when we see each other again!). So wonderful to meet and talk to you guys! 🙂

Around 2pm, the moment we have all been waiting for: Ms. Morgan Matson arrived at the event and it’s hosted by Ms. Pam Pastor. I wish she’ll conduct the author interviews in the future. The interview segment is fantastic, lively and interactive.

During the interview segment, Ms. Matson talked about her trip in the Philippines. She enjoyed the Mangoes in Cebu and the chocolate versions of her books on the hotels she stayed at. It’s so adorable to hear her talk about her experience with a smiling face and she really had a fun trip. We sang “Happy Birthday” to her because she’s going to celebrate it on Monday – Sept. 19, her flight back home to America. Happy Birthday again, Morgan Matson and Best Wishes! According to her, she had magical trip to the Philippines and appreciates all her Filipino fans for being the best.

She had a non-spoiler discussion about her books and its themes like love, friendship, and family. She’ll have a new book next year, May 2017 and she mentioned that there’s a hint from The Unexpected Everything. Also a Q&A Segment where us readers have a chance to ask her questions.

Book signing time!

Since it’s not that crowded, my conversation with Morgan Matson is record breaking. This is the longest chat I had with an author on a book signing event and I’m really happy about that.

Morgan Matson signing my book. [Please excuse my hands]

I talked to her about Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour which I’ve read years ago. I told her I really enjoyed it, how my reading experience made me feel like I’m part of the road trip in America with Amy & Roger and had an instant trip to America through the book. She said she’s glad that I enjoyed the book and  asked if it’s my favorite, I said yes. She replied that it’s most people’s favorite.

I also asked her if she has any plans on writing an Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour sequel and unfortunately she’s not going to write on.. BUT she says that there’s something on Since You’ve Been Gone (which I’m still reading) that will answer my question. I smell cameo on this one! (She loves character cameos on her books)

Here’s a photo of me and Ms. Morgan Matson. She’s one of the most adorable and sweetest authors I’ve ever met. If you’ll have a chance to meet her, don’t miss it. She’s super nice! Thank you for visiting the Philippines and signing my books! I hope you’ll come back in the future! ❤

#VictoriaAveyardinPH: Victoria Aveyard Book Signing Event

March 6, 2016 | National Book Store Glorietta 1 – Filipino Readers are excited Ms. Victoria Aveyard, she’s the author of Red Queen, Cruel Crown (novella) and her latest novel, Glass Sword.  It’s pretty crowded when I arrived around 9 am [I’m 531 of 1200 participants. Yes! The event is really packed.]. Thank you National Book Store for hosting the event.

After the registration and while waiting, I met my Book Girlfriends, Ate Elaine, CeeBee, and Ate April. It’s nice to meet new fellow readers: Mitch and Cyril.:)

While on queue, I met these lovely ladies: Soleil, Julie and Kim. photo credits to Soleil 😀

It’s also nice to meet these fellow bookstagrammers/bloggers  in person: Angela of The Geeky Auror and Nicay of The Nerdy Side of a Queen . So wonderful to meet you ladies! (c) Angela 🙂

Also I met other bookstagrammers and readers Pam of @phamtasticreads, Rechellyn of @infinitetbrlist, Ate Leigh, and Kristine 🙂 I don’t have pictures with them though. 🙂 I also see some familiar faces.

Since I wasn’t able to record a video of the actual interview because the crowd is so wild they blocked my view and they are SCREAMING. [No chill. They are all Team Maven and I’m Team Cal. 😛 ]. I tried watching via their phone screens but I can’t see a thing because I forgot my damn glasses.  Here’s a video of Victoria Aveyard’s Q&A from the Blogger’s forum held at Powerbooks. Video courtesy of Salve @ Cuckoo For Books.

I have to share this amazing piece while waiting for my books to get signed. Mr. Jun Ayalde is sketching Victoria Aveyard and I can’t help watching it. It’s a beautiful sketch and he only uses gel ink pens for this. Kudos to you  sir! [I got his name thru Debbie @booksandtealeaf]

Here’s my moment with Victoria Aveyard! (She’s really exhausted for signing a lot of books but still pretty ❤ :)). Our conversation is more of “Hi” and “Hello. Nice to meet you.” mehehe. Also, I forgot what I’m going to say to her because like I said, she’s really pretty. 😛

Here are my signed Red Queen & Glass Sword plus free Glass Sword bookmark. They’re not personalized but still worth it! Kudos to Debby of @booksandtealeaf as well for creating  these beautiful bookmarks too.  🙂

That’s all folks! I’m looking forward on the future book signing events this year. Also to meet more bookworms. I’ll see you when I see you. 🙂

#KCinPH: Kiera Cass Book Signing Event

Kiera Cass is back in the Philippines! I was able to attend her first book signing event 2 years ago (August 3,2013) also hosted by National Book Store and she is one of the sweetest and sassiest authors I’ve ever met. I’ve been a fan of The Selection series and I am currently waiting for the final book. Thank you National Book Store for inviting her again here in the Philippines. The book signing event was held in Shangri-La Plaza – September 19,2015.

#CTCinPH : Christine Brae, Tarryn Fisher & Colleen Hoover Book Signing Event

Ever since I’ve read Slammed by Colleen Hoover 3 years ago, I fell in love with her books and I always look forward on her upcoming novels. She never fails to give me an emotional roller coaster and I always have a tissue or handkerchief in hand (just in case if I cry). Colleen Hoover is known for her novels like Slammed trilogyHopeless duology, Maybe Someday, Ugly Love, Confess, Never Never, November 9. This event  is definitely one of the best book signing events I’ve ever attended because I got to meet one of my favorite Queens of the New Adult Genre. I’m beyond excited to meet her! She will be signing books with fellow New Adult authors Tarryn Fisher (Love Me with Lies series, Mud Vein, Marrow, Never Never [collaboration with Colleen Hoover] ) and Christine Brae (The Light in the Wound, His Wounded Light, Insipid, In This Life). The book signing event was held last Sunday, September 13, 2015 – SM Megamall.
