Synopsis:
He wants revenge, but he wants her more.
Once Upon A Time, there was a little boy.
His belly full of laughter, his life full of joy.
Until one day, something changed; stripped his innocence away.
The hole inside making space for the devil to come and play.
His dreams gone forever, he grew up way too fast.
An endless night of crocodiles, and watches made of glass.
He grew into a villain, the taste of vengeance on his tongue.
Craving to make his enemies pay for the misdeeds they had done.
Instead he found a darling girl, and refused to let her go.
For what better way to make the man pay, than to steal his little shadow.

“Just remember, that whenever things feel bleak, all situations are temporary. It’s not your circumstances that determines your worth. It’s how you rise from the ashes after everything burns.
James “Hook” Barrie plans avenging his family’s death and sets his sight on Peter Michaels. He plans for the right timing until he crossed paths with Peter’s daughter, Wendy Michaels. She isn’t included on his revenge but somehow lured her into it. Hook is an anti-hero while Wendy is an innocent lady attracted to him.
This Peter Pan retelling earned 5 stars for its intensity, fleshed out characters and its plot twist keep me on the edge. The sex scenes are incredibly steamy and the story is suspenseful. It is best to read this blindly and let the story take you over. The slow burn will keep you anticipated. I love it so much. It was a great dark retelling and has become a new favorite.
This isn’t something I would normally reach for, but I’m saving it for when I need something different. I love the sound of it and your review.

Thank you Deanna! Anti-heroes can be overwhelming. Glad this one turned out good but the pace is quite slow.

Yeah, slow is hard especially after reading so many romance novels.

Thank you Amber! 🙂 I haven’t read a Peter Pan retelling before. To think it’s dark romance, it’s a challenge.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a Peter Pan retelling! But girl, you and Ari scare me with your dark romances! I’m out here thinking “oh, ari would like this” when I come across serial killer romances!

For some reason, Ari and I jive in dark romances and stress ourselves out with all the screwed up things. :))) It’s surprisingly a good retelling, Nick! But you might need extra strength for this.
