October is a rollercoaster of events but also a blessing in disguise. I am concentrating on getting better each day as I deal with a medical issue. Rest assure that I will be okay soon. For now, I am reading leisurely and chilling out. Taking a step back from what I love is what I need. I have no September wrap-up because I only read two books and I am not feeling okay during that month. I want to leave that month behind
I have read a total of 10 books for October. Which is a good month of reading for me and I’m sort of leaning towards to dark themes:
- Fallen Royal (ARC) by Rachel Van Dyken ★★★★
- Sunkissed by Kasie West ★★★
- The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks by Max Monroe ★★★★★
- The Day the Jerk Started Falling by Max Monroe ★★★★★
- The Stopover by T.L. Swan (Buddy read with Rhyzza @ Book Club Philippines) ★★
- A Strange Hymn by Laura Thalassa ★★★★★
- An Emperor of Evening Stars by Laura Thalassa ★★★★
- Games We Play by Dana Isaly ★★★★
- A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor by Kathryn Moon ★★★★
- Creep by Yolanda Olson ★★★
My least favorite book I’ve read is The Stopover by T.L. Swan which I buddy read with my book gf Rhyzza. We ranted on the content. The sex scenes overpowered the plot and I dislike the characters so much. Hoping we’ll see an improvement on the sequels. A favorite read for me is A Strange Hymn by Laura Thalassa. It was a solid sequel and I love the direction of the story. Desmond Flynn is still BAE.
I joined Smutathon Halloween edition hosted by Riley @ Riley Marie and Lainey @ Lainey Kress and I read a total of three books. I wasn’t able to finish the last two books because I got busy. Creep by Yolanda Olson is traumatizing. Truly unhinged and it’s not for everyone. Want a smut novella? give Games We Play a try. A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor is my first monster romance and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. Here’s my Smutathon TBR post.
I did a book tag created by the one and only Kate @ Your Tita Kate called The Undas Book Tag. It was fun doing this to celebrate the Halloween Season in the Philippines.
I also did my first tier ranking for the authors I most read and the first one is ranking all Cora Reilly’s Mafia Romances.
In celebration of my 10th year anniversary as a book reviewer, I revealed the first batch of my Favorite Romance Novels of All Time. I posted the part 2 yesterday. Feel free to read it too.
A blessing came my way and I considered it a bookworm achievement unlocked when I got featured along with Filipino Bookworms (Kath @ kath_reads , Lean @ crooked.pages, Bryan @ bryanhoardsbooks and Nikki @ __bookish) for a Bookstagram 101, an article written by Salve @ Cuckoo For Books (she’s a pioneer of Booktube Philippines) in our local newspaper — Philippine Star. Feel free to read the article by clicking Bookstagram 101. 🙂 You can also find it thru Young Star PH’s Instagram.
That closes my wrap-up. Don’t forget to follow / check out the people I mentioned in this post. They are all amazing! May the last two months of 2021 be good! Have a fun week everyone. 🙂
That is so awesome you were featured! I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been doing well. I hope November is a month of healing and good health for you.
