I enjoyed watching videos with Anti-TBR tag because I’m curious about everyone’s unpopular opinions and many thanks to Nicole and Her Books for creating this. I’m not tagged by anyone and thought I should do this.
Let’s begin with the questions:
A Popular Book Everyone Loves That You Have No Interest In Reading
Game of Thrones is an immensely popular book series and TV show. My friends love it and while I watch a couple of episodes, I wasn’t engrossed. It was okay (if they are reading this, they’ll probably disown me haha!) and the books INTIMIDATE me. I’m fine not reading it.
A Classic Book (or Author) You Don’t Have An Interest In Reading
The Lord of the Rings series goes in the same league as Game of Thrones. I’m not a fan of Epic Fantasy books since they overwhelm me. They’ll just put me to sleep. Die hard fans of this series are about to drag me to hell.
An Author Whose Books You Have No Interest In Reading
Tomi Adeyemi. When she accused Nora Roberts copying her book title then arrogantly apologizes to her. It’s sad because her book was on my radar years ago and I heard nothing but promising reviews. *sighs*
A Problematic Author Whose Books You Have No Interest in Reading
A harmful book with a problematic author. I’ve read articles about Jay Asher committing sexual assault and that’s just no.
An author you have read a couple of books from & have decided their books are not for you
I have two authors for this question: Cassandra Clare and J.K. Rowling. I enjoyed The Mortal Instruments series and made it to the fifth book. However, I somewhat read it in a wrong order and lost interest in it. Then, the TMI world dragged on so… I’ve outgrown them.
Next is J.K. Rowling. I am disheartened that the author is transphobic and I want to preserve my love for the Harry Potter series because it’s one of those special book / series that inspired me to be a book lover. That’s just it.
A genre you have no interest in OR a genre you tried to get into & couldn’t
Epic Fantasy. It’s too heavy for me and I swear, I struggled getting into it. I can read fantasy books but I don’t want to be overwhelm by its world building.
A book you have bought but will never read
Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. Don’t kill me guys. Hahaha! (Dumb reason I bought the book: It was mentioned in Fifty Shades of Grey bwahahhaha!)
A series you have no interest in reading OR a series you started & have dnf’d
I DNF Boys of Brayshaw High by Meagan Brandy. It’s bland and the heroine tries so hard to be a badass. She’s annoying and the guys here are cardboard cut outs. It’s bad.
A new release you have no interest in reading
After reading several poetry books (that are great), I didn’t care about September Love by Lang Leav. I’m sure its poems are same ones from her previous collections.
I am tagging the following people to do this tag:
Nick @ The Infinite Limits of Love
Deanna @ Novel Glimpse
Ate Ezrah @ I Heart Romance
Tiffany @ Read by Tiffany
Kate @ Your Tita Kate
Kat @ Her Bookish Side
Gerald @ Gerald The Bookworm
Jon @ Wander with Jon
Corina @ The Brown Eyed Bookworm
If I haven’t tag you but you want to do it, consider yourself tagged. ❤
Ohh this is an awesome unpopular opinions tag! I’ll definitely do this one soon! 😁
I agree with your thoughts on JKR. There are also other problematic authors that I am probably not going to read books from…

Yays! I am looking forward for your answers, ate Ezrah. JKR sucks and it drives me mad she’s a transphobe. 😦
