When you’re in a huge mood for dark romance books, this is a perfect treat for you as these authors write novellas based on classic fairy tales. The setting is in an elite birthday party.

King Midas by Skye Warren – ★★★★
> Enticing. Raoul and Anita have a great chemistry. I’m left wanting more of them.

Rumpelstiltskin – Celia Aaron ★★★★★
> That’s dark and sinisterly hot! Clark Evergreen is a sexy anti-hero. The scenes are steamy as fuck.

The Princess and the Pea – Sierra Simone ★★★
> Damn. The sexual tension here is on FIRE. However, the second chance romance doesn’t make any sense. Both characters are dominant and I was expecting the hero will be giving in. LOL

Little Red Ridinghood – Karina Halle ★★★★.5
– The assassin and his trainee. OMFG. I love the push and pull between the protagonists got me so hooked! I’m still salty this is short.

The Ugly Duckling – C.J. Roberts ★★.5
– First of all, welcome back CJ Roberts! I have waited for years for her comeback but this F/F romance lacked the chemistry. 😦 The saving point of the story was its plot twist in the end. It was evil genius.

The Beauty and The Beast – Willow Winters ★★★
– I was getting on the good part and it just left me high and dry. I’m so frickin’ mad. It was kinky and I. WANT. MORE. Call me greedy but I’m really invested with it.

Jack and the Bean Stalk – Marley Valentine ★★★★★
– HOLY CRAP. She perfected this M/M version of this tale. Scorching hot. Wow. I am picking Marley Valentine’s books because of this.

King Thrushbeard- Cora Reilly ★★
– Unfortunately, I didn’t like it ended abruptly. I think this should be a full length novel. The romance between characters are so good and Cora Reilly is great writing romance with arrange marriage. Like I said, I don’t like it’s way too short.

The Swan Princess – Natasha Knight ★★★★
– The most innocent story in this book. The only dark element of the story was the fact it’s forbidden romance. I have to admit, it’s sweet and I want to read the series.

Cinderella – Aleatha Romig ★★★★
– Great introduction to Web of Lies series. I badly want to read it NOW. This is well done.

Snow White – T.M. Frazier ★★★★.5
– WTF. This is filthy great. The dark story, the gore, the fucked up hero. Holy shit. It lived up to its dark tale. Damn. I’m pushed to my limits.

Overall, this is a great collection of dark romance stories. I enjoyed it and read all night. My top five stories are Rumpelstiltskin, Jack and the Bean Stalk, Little Red Ridinghood, Snow White and Cinderella. 🙂
