A brilliant, edgy thriller about four strangers, a blizzard, a kidnapped child, and a determined young woman desperate to unmask and outwit a vicious psychopath.

A kidnapped little girl locked in a stranger’s van. No help for miles. What would you do?

On her way to Utah to see her dying mother, college student Darby Thorne gets caught in a fierce blizzard in the mountains of Colorado. With the roads impassable, she’s forced to wait out the storm at a remote highway rest stop. Inside are some vending machines, a coffee maker, and four complete strangers.

Desperate to find a signal to call home, Darby goes back out into the storm . . . and makes a horrifying discovery. In the back of the van parked next to her car, a little girl is locked in an animal crate.

Who is the child? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her?

There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, and no way out. One of her fellow travelers is a kidnapper. But which one?

Trapped in an increasingly dangerous situation, with a child’s life and her own on the line, Darby must find a way to break the girl out of the van and escape.

But who can she trust?

With exquisitely controlled pacing, Taylor Adams diabolically ratchets up the tension with every page. Full of terrifying twists and hairpin turns, No Exit will have you on the edge of your seat and leave you breathless.

My Review:

I picked this book randomly. I don’t know why I’m in a mood for mystery/thrillers and this was recommended by Gabby of gabbyreads and Jacqueline of We Be Book’n.

No Exit is about a college student, Darby Thorne who’s bound to Utah to visit her ill mother. When a blizzard hits, she got stuck in Colorado and she must wait in a rest stop until the roads are clear and safe. In the rest stop, she meets four strangers and she got along well with them. While finding a signal, she noticed a van and inside is a young girl trapped in an animal cage.

It seems one of the people in the rest stop is a child abductor. She must figure out who the culprit is and with no means of communication to authorities, she must save the child even it’ll risk her life. However, who shall she trust?

This is a good mystery / thriller novel. It might be predictable but the story is FUCKING INTENSE. I was glued to my seat and I’m stressed and anxious for Darby. Sarah Naughton’s narration made the book more atmospheric and the graphic scenes are gold. It was action-packed and if this is becoming a movie, I’ll watch it.

      1. I’m waiting for the audiobook to be available at the library or I might just have to get it from Audible. But I think I need to be in the right mindset and mood for a book like this.
