How ridiculous I am to think Friend-Zoned is a mafia book? I picked it up without reading the blurb just to set my mood for a romantic suspense and after several chapters, I was laughing out loud. Never would I’ve thought it’s a romantic comedy and I actually had a good time reading this.
Valentina Tomic is the owner of a clothing boutique called Safira. She’s sassy, bold, bubbly and hilarious. Despite being immature, I can’t help laughing on her shenanigans. I think it’s her way of coping after an unfortunate event in the past. It’s the reason she’s been single for years.
She notices an attractive but brooding man across her store. Tina befriends this guy by sending lip-shaped candies to cheer him up. Apparently, he is Nikolai Leokov, the owner of the The White which is a club across her store.
Tina and Nik are obviously attracted to each other but both of them have issues as far as relationship goes. The friendship between them was solid and it’s even more fruitful when they took it to the next level. They slowly opened up to each other and I find it really sweet. Tina is thoughtful, caring and loyal to her family and friends. These qualities made Nik fall in love with her. He’s protective, sweet and selfless. Quite an alpha guy.
This novel reminds me of Wallbanger with an organize crime group. Nik, Max, and Ghost are former gang members but they still have minor involvement outside the business. I love the humor and friendship here more. The secondary characters Max, Mimi, Ghost (he’s by far my favorite!), Nat, Lola and Trick are great. I know I’m so late but I am excited to read their stories.
LOVE this series! Glad you liked this one.
