Summary (Goodreads):

Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.

He’s not handling it well.

Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him “space”—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:

Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.

A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world’s most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.

While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.

The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit… and her naughty sense of humor.

But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.

As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

My Review:

Review also posted on Goodreads

Prince Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook is the current Prince of Wessco when his older brother, Prince Nicholas withdrawn his position as the next king so he can be with the woman he dearly loves. Big responsibilities lies on Henry’s hands and he’s swamp by all the things he needs to learn as the future King. His Royal Hotness was stressed out, with the Queen’s help she sends him on a secluded castle hoping it will clear his mind and focus according to his pace. What she didn’t know, she signed up on a reality TV show with gorgeous women from different Royal families. It’s very much like The Bachelor. Henry hangs out with these ladies and he’s going to find the woman who mesmerizes him and will win the competition. What if the one who captivates him the most wasn’t a contestant?

Lady Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia von Tittebottum is well loved by her family and friends. She is lovely, kind and pure. A total opposite of Henry who’s wild, daring and loud. She loves books and works as a Librarian. She and ehr sister are invited to be part of the reality show. Instead of joining the competition, she decided to stay away from the limelight and look out for her sister as she competes.

I slightly like this better than the previous book. The story is light but has depth in it. Both characters are remarkable and greatly developed towards the end. Henry started off a slacker and an immature guy while Sarah is a timid and scared lady. As they hang out more, their chemistry builds up and found comfort with each other. They continually motivated each other to be better persons. Sarah becomes more confident with herself and Henry becomes more mature and dedicated.

The highlights of this book are in the final chapters (including the epilogue). That symposium moment made me giddy and it’s very sweet of Prince Henry. Plus, I respect these two about their decisions with regards on their relationship. Let’s say it’s worth the wait 😉 Not only it’s their learning ground in preparation for the future but also their self-improvement. I’m looking forward to the next and final book in this series! Kudos to Emma Chase!
