Madame X invites you to test the limits of control in this provocative new novel from New York Times bestselling author Jasinda Wilder.
My name is Madame X.
I’m the best at what I do.
And you’d do well to follow my rules…
Hired to transform the uncultured, inept sons of the wealthy and powerful into decisive, confident men, Madame X is a master of the art of control. With a single glance she can cut you down to nothing, or make you feel like a king.
But there is only one man who can claim her body—and her soul.
Undone time and again by his exquisite dominance, X craves and fears his desire in equal measure. And while she longs for a different path, X has never known anything or anyone else—until now…
I buddy read this with Elena — click to read her thoughts about this book.
Madame X trains rich, spoiled men to be well mannered, powerful and respectful to take over a prestigious company. These rich fathers spend thousands of dollars to hone their sons to better and responsible enough to handle a corporation. Most of them are bastards but Madame X isn’t fazed by their arrogance and insults. She’s beautiful, exquisite and tactless. She’s good on her job and highly in demand. Her identity remains a mystery since she can’t remember who she is. Caleb Indigo saved her from a torturous past and took care of her. He named and claimed her as his own and she remains special in his eyes.
While the story left me intrigued, I’m not sure what to feel about the characters. Let’s say they’re okay but not really. Madame X is okay but I’m confused with her feelings and I don’t like her decision making. I pretty much hate Caleb. I will never understand his possessiveness towards Madame X, he’s an unaffectionate, alpha prick. He says she’s special to him but I don’t see it that way (view spoiler). As for Logan Ryder, he’s a sweet guy that came out of nowhere but I like him. He’s more affectionate than Caleb. Still, I need to know him more because… I don’t trust him enough.
I might read the sequels to find out more answers. Just not at this moment, I’m still annoyed with the romance. It seems really off to me.
