Summary (Goodreads):

From New York Times Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a sexy newstandalone novel.

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.

I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.

He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.

So I told him to mind his own damn business―his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business―and went back to my miserable date.

When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.

I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.

But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us―telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.

My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.

When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.

I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people? Then again…

What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

Final rating: 4.5 / 5 stars – Full review posted

After reading consecutive emotional books, this is the kind of book I need. Bossman is a standalone, light-hearted, romance novel. The banters made me laugh and I swooned over the romance between the characters. I love it when books give me goo-goo eyes and butterflies. Plus, a total cover appreciation for this cover. Damn, HAWT!

The story begins when Reese Annesley was in a bathroom hall calling her best friend to save her from a boring date and meets this gorgeous, lurking hottie, Chase Parker. They didn’t really have a good impression with each other but their awkward encounter gets more interesting when Chase makes up his own story about knowing Reese. Which is really funny because they have their own respective dates and his make-up stories are REALLY CONVINCING. They have more encounters along which ended up Chase having more make-up stories. I swear, it’s deceivingly hilarious!

Reese resigned from her job after having an affair with a co-worker and she vowed that she’ll never have a relationship in her new job. Surprisingly, things got more complicated when she knew Chase Parker is her new boss. She’s fighting her attraction to him and his constant persistence makes him more irresistible. I am so entertained with their dialogue, the story is quite addicting and the sexy scenes are hot.

I honestly adore these two main characters. Reese is an independent, understanding and sassy woman. Despite of her issues in the past, she doesn’t whine about it. I have so much respect and admiration for her with regards on her patience to Chase. She doesn’t push him to open up about his past and she’s all ears for him. As for Chase, HOLY TALLULAH. I swooned over him a couple of times. I love how he’s sexy, cocky, witty, funny confident and straightforward. I love how he respects a woman’s space and doesn’t force Reese to be with him but this sweet man never stops wooing her until she gives in.

I just wish there’s more Chase’s perspective because I’m quite curious what runs in his mind and the plot twist is a bit predictable. I guess hints are given away too early but it’s okay, I enjoyed it. I’m satisfied how the story was wrapped up. The epilogue is clever and swoon-worthy.
