Manwhore. That’s what the board of directors-and the tabloids-thinks of billionaire bachelor Reese Crane. Ordinarily he couldn’t care less, but his playboy past is preventing the board from naming him CEO of Crane Hotels. Nothing-and no one-will keep him from his life’s legacy. They want a settled man to lead the company? Then that’s exactly what he’ll give them.
Merina Van Heusen will do anything to get her parents’ funky boutique hotel back-even marry cold-as-ice-but-sexy-as-hell Reese Crane. It’s a simple business contract-six months of marriage, absolute secrecy, and the Van Heusen is all hers again. But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband . . .
Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Billionaire romance combined with arrange marriages are guilty pleasure reads. I am settled to give this 3.5 stars but the last 5 chapters plus the epilogue changed my mind. The problem I had in this book was the pacing –It’s too slow that it almost bored me. Despite of that, the story is promising and it’s not an insta-love. Reese Crane andMerina Van Heusen pretend to be husband and wife. For Reese: to convince the board members that he’s the righful CEO of Crane Hotels as his father retires by making Merina as his wife (to erase that playboy reputation). In exchange, he will give back the Van Heusen hotel, which Merina’s parents sold to him.
As the story progresses, the romance between them slowly developed and enjoy each others company. Falling for each other is something they didn’t expect since what they have is only a one time deal. These two have a wonderful character development and chemistry. The sexy scenes are well done and I enjoyed the drama even if it’s predictable.
I am going to continue the series because I’m so curious about Tag (Reese’s brother). I recommend this book if you’re looking for a guilty pleasure, slow burn read (with a sexy billionaire.)
