He’s a player in more ways than one…
College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.
Now he’s going to need to up his game…
After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have towork for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.
I’ve buddy read this book with the ever lovely sis Pearl (definitely go read her wonderful review. Just click her name 🙂 )
Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series is my happy pill. It effortlessly makes me laugh, swoon and giddy. This is one of the guilty-pleasure, well-written New Adult books with amazing character developments.
In The Mistake , we get to hear John Logan and Grace Ivers’ story. John Logan is known as a playboy hockey player. Girls drool over him but he isn’t into serious relationships. Then, he encountered a simple, laid back freshman, Grace Iverswhen he knocks on her dorm room (He thought it was his friend’s dorm). These two are attracted with each other and the chemistry between them is on the spot. It’s just that Logan messed up. He turned down Grace, when they almostdid it. Tt truly hurts her feelings since she liked him a lot. She vows that she’ll not give him a chance. If so, she’ll make sure Logan will be challenged to win her back. While Logan is determined to do it and take a chance to win over Grace’s heart.
How can I not like this one?
Logan is the sweetest. His efforts to win Grace and corrects his mistake is shamelessly adorable. He fucking earned it. HELL YEAH TO THAT RED VELVET CHAISE LOUNGE BOUDOIR POSE! That totally cracked me up really hard. I absolutely love Grace. She’s not whiny and dramatic. I love how she plays hard to get and enjoys challenging Logan in funny ways. Their relationship is the cutest ever. I can’t help smirking on their moments. So blush-worthy.
Overall, I enjoyed this book but the ending seems abrupt to me. Still, it’s a great book to swoon over. DAMN HOT HOCKEY PLAYERS.
