Summary (Goodreads):

In this asylum, your mind plays tricks on you all the time…

Delia’s new house isn’t just a house. Long ago, it was the Piven Institute for the Care and Correction of Troubled Females—an insane asylum nicknamed “Hysteria Hall.” However, many of the inmates were not insane, just defiant and strong willed. Kind of like Delia herself.

But the house still wants to keep “troubled” girls locked away. So, in the most horrifying way, Delia gets trapped.

And that’s when she learns that the house is also haunted.

Ghost girls wander the halls in their old-fashioned nightgowns. A handsome ghost boy named Theo roams the grounds. Delia finds that all the spirits are unsettled and full of dark secrets. The house, as well, harbors shocking truths within its walls—truths that only Delia can uncover, and that may set her free.

But she’ll need to act quickly, before the house’s power overtakes everything she loves.

From master of suspense Katie Alender comes a riveting tale of twisted memories and betrayals, and the meaning of madness.

Crash Into YouFuck this. I’m standing here bleeding and she doesn’t give a damn.

“You can ignore me Rachel, and you can try to treat me as a friend, but none of that will erase the fact that I think about kissing you every second I’m awake and dream at night of my hands on your body. And it sure as hell won’t erase that I’m terrified by how much I like you.”

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: Favorite Hunger Games Trilogy Moments

Top (1)

This tag is created by Lainey of gingerreadslainey. For the Goodreads Group: Top 5 Wednesday to check for every week’s topic. For this week’s topic: Favorite moments in the Hunger Games Trilogy. The end is near. Time flies by so fast and I’m not prepared to watch Mockingjay part 2 because it’s going to be an emotional ending. (If you know what I mean) I’m going to share with you my favorite scenes from The Hunger Games trilogy (book/movie)I’m not going to include much of Peeta-Katniss moments because those are obvious. (I’m forever Team Peeta!)

katniss

Katniss and Rue’s friendship (Hunger Games)

  • For a short period of time, Katniss formed a friendship and alliance with Rue of District 11. I love how these two worked together during the 74th Hunger Games. However, their bonding is an emotional moment to watch or read. SPOILER: Especially Rue’s death. I swear, I cried when Katniss sang this to Rue as she sleeps….forever. </3 It really broke my heart. So emotional.

Rue’s Lullaby (Hunger Games)

Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when you awake, the sun will rise.

Here it’s safe, here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, A moonbeam ray,
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it’s morning, they’ll wash away.

Here it’s safe, here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

Every Caesar Flickerman Interviews (Hunger Games & Catching Fire)

  • He always delivers the best interviews and coverage for the tributes. I am never bored when he has a scene. Caesar Flickerman’s smile is definitely contagious.

jena malone catching fire elevator

Johanna Mason Elevator Scene (Catching Fire)

  • Who wouldn’t love the sassiest side character in THG? Johanna Mason from District 7 is simply beautiful and bold. Also snarky. I just barked with laughter while watching/reading this. Katniss’ face ftw! Jena Malone is superb! She and Sam Claflin (Finnick Odair) should have a movie together. My fave side characters should unite. Anyways, you can watch the elevator scene here

Katniss’ message to President Snow / Capitol (Mockingjay Part 1)

  • Rebellion on point. Jennifer Lawrence absolutely nailed Katniss’ character. She is just perfect for the role. When delivered her message  — Oh my God. SLAYED. HANDS DOWN. Such a powerful scene. The adrenaline rush and emotion is just there. Watch it here.

Mockingjay Dress (Catching Fire)

  • This is the most badass moment I’ve ever seen. I am beyond speechless of how stunning it is. CINNA IS THE BEST STYLIST EVER!

Summary (Goodreads):

Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It’s gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie’s estranged father—an elusive European warlock—only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it’s her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters.

By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tag-along ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire student on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.

As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.
